Jean Marco Pumarol Fernández is a Dominican businessman, attorney and government affairs strategist with experience across public policy, foreign trade, investment, regulatory affairs and institutional relations. He is Managing Partner of Pumarol Government Affairs (PGA) and currently serves as Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic.
Since 2017, he has served on the Board of the Center for Public Policy Analysis (CAPP), through which he has worked closely with the World Government Summit (WGS) as a Latin American regional counterpart and led the Regional Dialogue initiative on behalf of the Dominican government and CAPP. Previously, he served as Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED) and spent more than five years as Special Advisor to the Minister of Industry, Commerce and SMEs (MICM), working on industrial policy, foreign trade, free trade zones, regulatory and legislative strategy, and interinstitutional coordination. Earlier in his career, he worked in government affairs at Newlink Group, advising companies on public policy, stakeholder relations and regulatory matters.
He holds an MBA from Barna Management School, a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law and Constitutional Procedure, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Cum Laude, from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra.
Jean Marco brings to PTL Group and Maverin Dubai the government affairs, public policy and institutional capabilities required to advance cross-border investment within the relevant public-sector and regulatory frameworks. Drawing on his longstanding engagement with the World Government Summit and his experience within the Dominican government, he supports institutional relationships between the United Arab Emirates and the Dominican Republic and the advancement of trade and investment initiatives between the two countries.
